The XFL St. Louis BattleHawks kicked off their commUNITY huSTLe day initiative at OFS on Tuesday. BattleHawks’ players, coaches and staff worked hard packing meals for Operation Backpack, which provides easy-to-prepare foods to students lacking access to nutrition on the weekends, and assisted with OFS’s Food Drive operations.
Every week throughout the season, BattleHawks’ players, coaches and staff will spend their off day volunteering with different nonprofit and community organizations across St. Louis and the surrounding metro area.
“Football is more than a game. It instills values, unites communities and creates lasting memories. As a team, it’s important to us that we have a presence in our community and create a positive impact in St. Louis beyond on our play on the football field,” said Jonathan Hayes, head coach of the St. Louis BattleHawks.
