Food Day

Food Day is a year-round nationwide celebration and a movement for healthy, affordable, and sustainable food, culminating on October 24, a day of action and advocacy.
Day in and day out, Operation Food Search is dedicated to nourishing and educating our neighbors in need in the bi-state region.
On October 24, Operation Food Search has scheduled nutrition education opportunities with the following organizations:
– Parent/Daughter Cooking demonstration at Marian Middle School
Families will come together and learn how to cook nutritious affordable food so they can have a healthy meal at the table.
– Cooking Demonstration at Washington Montessori
Kids will learn to make sweet potato pancakes as an after school program.
– Gardens to Tables: Food Day Event at Saint Louis University (featuring Gateway Greening’s Rachel Deffenbaugh as keynote speaker): Stop by the Operation Food Search station to meet our nutrition education team as they share easy, affordable and healthy eating tips!
